Anonymous collective hacked the Russian Defense Ministry and leaked the data of its employees in response to the Ukraine invasion.
The Anonymous collective has decided to take action against Russia due to the illegitimate invasion of Ukraine following which its members have first taken down the website of the Russian propaganda station RT News. The news-site is directed to audiences outside Russia by broadcasting in English, Spanish, German, French and Arabic via its internet portals.
Later they attacked the servers of the Russian Defense Ministry.
The website of the Kremlin – Putin Administration’s own portal, (Kremlin.ru) is also unreachable, but it is not sure whether it is the work of the Anonymous or if the government has taken it offline to prevent disruptive attacks.
The Russian Government’s portal, and the websites of other ministries are running very slow.
The collective is also threatening the Russian Federation and private organizations with attacks; it is a retaliation against Putin’s tyranny.
Anonymous clarified in a tweet that they are not targeting Russian citizens, but only their government.
The hacktivists are also launching its offensive against those countries that are supporting military operations in Ukraine, like Belarus. They are also leaking around 200GB of emails from Belarusian weapons maker Tetraedr. This company provided logistical support to Vladimir Putin in his invasion of Ukraine.
