The Bank of Zambia (BOZ) has confirmed the hacking of its Facebook page and has urged members of the public not to interact with the affected page until further notice.
BOZ Assistant Director – Communications, Besnat Mwanza issued a statement on Monday informing the public of a cyber-security incident affecting the Bank’s Facebook page. The bank is conducting a thorough review of the incident and is working closely with relevant law enforcement to address the cyber-security incident.
The Bank is making every effort to ensure that the platform is restored to full functionality as soon as possible and deeply regrets for the inconvenience.
The statement also urges the members of the public to not interact with the affected page until further communication. However, they can communicate with the bank using other channels like Twitter and LinkedIn.
